  • 200 g ready-made puff pastry
  • Flour to dust
  • 40 g breadcrumbs
  • Salt, ground caraway
  • mill pepper
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon cream
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • Sesame, caraway or poppyseed to sprinkle

Instructions

Pre-heat the oven to 200 °C. Puree the Bavaria blu in a blender with 2 tablespoons of milk. Sprinkle flour onto the work surface and roll out the puff pastry dough 2-3 mm thick. Sprinkle half of the grated Bavaria blu and half of the breadcrumbs over half of the dough and season with a pinch of salt, ground caraway and pepper from the mill. Cover with the second half of the dough, lightly press together, and roll out the combined mixture to a thickness of approx 3. mm once again. Leave to rest in a cool place for 5 minutes. Work in the remaining Bavaria blue and breadcrumbs again as above and leave to rest for a further 5 minutes. Use a cutter to cut out christmas stars and place onto a baking tray lined with baking paper approx. 1-2 cm apart. Stir the egg yellow with 1 tablespoon of cream and 2 tablespoons of milk and lightly brush the stars with the mixture. Sprinkle with sesame, caraway or poppyseed as you wish. Place in a pre-heated oven and bake for approx. 10 minutes at 220° C until golden brown.
